a letter from the founders:

Dear LGBTQIA+ human,

my name is Jordan & my fiancé’s name is Haleigh.

We are two lesbians who grew up in the conservative evangelical christian world.

Not only were we both preachers’ kids, we were leaders in the church & international missionaries.

Our coming out processes were very traumatic and we felt very alone & lost in the dark.

We lost our families, friends, church family, career paths, and for a long time it felt like we had lost our faith & relationship with God.

During that season we were desperate for any sort of guidance as we tried to sort through our own faith beliefs while also dealing with the grief of losing our family & friends.

It took us YEARS of questioning,

learning, wrestling, (& lots of ugly-cry moments)

before we finally got to a place of peace

(both spiritually and personally)—

and learned to embrace our sexuality,

reclaim a spirituality built on love & self acceptance,

and live our lives as the out & proud couple we are today.

If only we could go back in time and tell our younger selves what we know now!

How much time we could’ve saved and how much heartache we could've avoided!
(…or at least processed in a healthier way!)

That inspired us to create the Proud Love Collective:

an online community to help other LGBTQIA+ christians

— sort through their faith,

— embrace their sexuality,

— and navigate the coming out process in a safe & supported way.

This community is everything we wish we would’ve had when we first started this process nearly a decade ago.

Our hope is that you find this space a safe place to land while you navigate what will likely be the most important journey of your life.

We’re proof that it does in fact get better.

And we’re here for you until it does.

Love,

Jordan & Haleigh
